TL,DR: Beyond the tools we use to work better as a remote-first team, we may also use more specific role-related tools. Below is a list of our current tech stack. It's an always evolving list. We keep experimenting with new tools and software as we grow. The tools we use today aren't the ones we'll use tomorrow.
Best Practices
Asynchronisation
We started as a remote company from Day 1. Benjamin, Marty and Rodolphe from Bordeaux, Simon from Paris. Transparency and clear communication is a key focus. What does that mean for team communications? We prefer open conversations. When you're running into an issue, when you need help or feedback, ping @here on Slack and start a Thread, or add a comment in the related doc on Slite and mention its owner.
The Boy Scout Rule
In Software Engineering, the Boy Scout Rule is “Leave your code better than you found it.” This rule can be applied to anything. In everyday life, the Boy Scout Rule means that if you see trash in the street or in the forest, you take it, even if it’s not yours. Applied to us, it means we leave the tools we use in better shape than we found them. If you stumble upon outdated data, broken links, or inconsistencies, fix it and don’t wait for someone else to do it. Please mention the owner of the note in a comment for the record.
Human after all
As we spend most of the time working on online collaborative tools, it's good to keep in mind we're working with real people. To have a profile picture on each and every tool we use really helps. Please add your best smile on the tools we use.
Automate everything
When to automate tasks? The 3-time Rule. For each task you repeat for the third time, automate it.
Marketing Tech Stack
Below isn't the full list of tools. Each team has its own additional tools for specific team needs that we don't list here. Also, it's an evolving list as we grow. The tools we use today aren't the ones we'll use tomorrow. So we keep experimenting with new tools and software.
